SB 456 - This act prohibits an institution of higher education from disclosing, to the parent or guardian of a student, any information regarding violations of law or school policy by such student, if the student is at least 18 years of age. This exception shall not apply if the student is not financially dependent on the parent or guardian nor if the records are requested through subpoena or judicial order. A student may waive the right granted by the bill by signing a consent form at the beginning of each academic year.

This act is similar to SB 1077 from 2000 and is the same as HB 424 from 2001.
